When I first got my truck about a year or so ago now, it had no bed protection on it whatsoever. I installed the roll on Herculiner myself to at least protect it and to prevent as much damage as I could with some of the hauling and moving I do.
Well plans have now changed and in the next month or two I plan on doing the Leer 800 Tonneau and a BedRug underneath. From my understanding the rug attaches via velcrow right? Can I just grind down the bedliner in those areas and put the rug over them? I know I don't need to remove the whole liner, but anyone who has done this or might have any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If the Velcro tape/glue will stick to the liner, don't see why you would even have to do the grinding. The only other issue might be if your liner is so thick that it throws the measurements off, and I just can't see that being the case with a roll on.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. I didn't go very thick with the roll on at all anyways. It has held up great, but just not what I want anymore.
Yeah, I wouldn't grind it off either. Even though the BedRug is designed to fit perfectly into the slots in the bed, if it's not too thick it should still work. I don't think you'll have a problem at all.

I agree with the rest on this one. I would not grind the spray-in liner.
I took my BedRug out of my 2006 KR and installed it into my 2007. The velcro backing is very sticky and I was able to reuse just about all the pieces on mine. It is not a real tight fit, so you should not have too much problem as long as the spray in is not real thick.

TJ05FX4, great looking truck there. And, that JVC KW-NT1 system looks really good. I've got the factory nav, and love it. But, I've seen a lot of posts from guys without the factory nav, wishing they'd got it, but now wondering what to install after-market. This JVC system is one of the better ones I've seen. Do you mind if we point people to your pics when they ask that in the future?
And, I also looked at the Leer 800 when I got my '09 KR. I compared it, the SnugLid and the A.R.E. All very good lids. But, I ended up going with the SnugLid just because of the lower profile and lighter weight. It's easy to remove and the wife and I can do it by ourselves...which was a biggy for me. I have to be able to use my truck bed as a truck when I want, without too much hassle.

Thanks for the info everybody. I wasn't too worried about it being an issue and if the adhesive is as good as everyone says, then I don't forsee any sort of issue.
Mickey thanks for that extra info as well. Please feel free to point anyone in that direction if they want more info and I did all the install work myself and could and would be happy to answer any questions they might have. So far the NT1 has been one of the best decks I've ever had.
I remember your thread about the Leer vs Snuglid and I'm still kinda on the fence for that reason. I don't have the money just yet so I'm not too agressively looking just yet, but it's going to be one of the two. I don't plan on needing to remove the cover much, if at all. But weight is weight and would be nice to have something lighter if its just as good.
