Line-X chrome bumpers front and rear color match Oxford White (Truckgasm?)

Has anyone ever had their chrome bumpers on the front and rear Line-xed? Did you have them color matched? Any ballparks on the cost? Does the Line-X place have to remove the bumpers to do it? Can it be done in one day usually? Does it look good or should I just hold out till I can afford PTM for these? If you have any pictures that would be great... also oxford white beds with Line-X if you do. Any tips on talking to the Line-X dealer about color matching Line-X? Thanks guys. I know it is a lot of questions... just wondering before I actually call the Line-X dealer. Plus, I actually use my bed to haul stuff, is it a good idea to color match oxford white or will scratches show badly?

I will try to help you, I feel bad when I don't see responses for a few hours. Here is my take. Linex is a rough material that is used for durability in beds. You use your bed, so it would probably help protect your bumpers and would not get damaged as easily I would think because of how rigid and tough it is. Now looks wise, I tend to like PTM with paint, not the texture, but I can see where the Linex would help for bumper protection. It is a rougher surface so I don't think damage would be easily done but it all depends on the look you are trying to go for. Your front end is stunning, a million times better than how you bought it... but my only concern would be up close the textured linex vs the smooth paint. I hope that this helped some what.

Hey John... thanks for your comments and help. Also, thanks very much for the link to the other user's info. Between all of that it convinced me to go ahead with the Line-X of the bed, still not sure on the color match of that but leaning towards black. I think I am going to go with PTM with the bumpers with regular paint. The other user's truck looks nice, but after seeing it... it is not the look I would like. Hopefully it will not be more then a few months before I can afford it all. Also, thanks for the compliment of the truck. Yours looks nice also.

I'll go ahead and address a few of the questions regarding LINE-X.

It's best if the bumper is removed, generally the dealer can do a better job spraying it. The dealer will need it for a couple of days. The texture can be varied, we always use a light texture on the exterior, but it will not be a smooth texture like paint. Some dealers freak out over chrome, but we have never had a problem spraying chrome. White can be colormatched although most dealers charge a little more for white (and yellow). The really good thing about having LINE-X on the bumper is that you won't get any rock chips.

is there anything that Line-x can do to make the finish a bit glossy?

LINE-X Xtra is very glossy and will hold its gloss with no maintenance. White needs an extra Xtra anyway. So, if you do it, make sure the dealer does not apply a heavy texture and make sure they add extra Xtra.

Some people don't want glossy Xtra, so there is an additive that cuts down the glossiness.

Powdercoating looks very nice. The only problem is...rock chips.

Not a bumper, it's a powdercoated grill guard with rock chips.

Would you believe mine came with Chrome Bumpers? It's holding well to the herculiner the previous owner did. I will be doing the bed and the whole lower trim all around the Truck in a few weeks again.

Like? I can get you more pictures

I did my Bumps and nerfs in Paint Matched Line-X Xtra. Cost 150 for bumps and 100 for nerfs.

I love not having to take care of chrome and it just takes a scrub down with a brush and some topper and it looks killer.

I like this better than powder coat for 2 reasons..
No danger of chipping
Lifetime warrenty

people are blown away when they find out it is Line-X and not Paint....
