White sand metallic match??

I am want to install a hard bed cover on my 08 F150. All of the dealers are saying that A.R.E. will not guarantee that they can match my white sand metallic color. (TriCoat) Has anybody ordered one and how is the match?

That color, which is code PV, is a difficult and expensive color to work with. Some vendors try to use a single stage or double stage process and it generally does not look as good. If you find a vendor that will do it correctly, plan on paying a premium.

Not intended to hijack the thread, but here a LINE-X bedliner in that color and yes, it has the "pearl" in it. It took an entire day and actually, it probably should have been done over a two day period. By the way, that color is also known as "White Chocolate".

I'm going through the same problem. I wanted the A.R.E. but when I went to my local dealer, the told me that A.R.E. will not guarantee a paint match to code PV. I had to go with LEER. For a $125.00 upcharge, they will get it closer. I'm waiting for the paint sample swatches as we speak.

That bedliner looks great! I need to check with my LineX dealer about that. Wow!
Are you looking at the Leer 700? Leer dealer quoted me on that one today.

The liner looks fantastic, TruckGasm. And I thought my regular Line-X looked good. That puts it to shame.

I'm getting the Leer 700. With the paint upgrade and the tax it's coming to $1200. I got the samples yesterday. Out of the four, two were pretty close. I had my wife pick out which one was closest, since I couldn't decide. I'm glad I didn't go with the A.R.E. because chances are, it wouldn't color match.

I think I am going with the lower profile 800. Both of them look great on the F150.

Why not just buy the cover unpainted and then get a professional painter to paint it so you know it will match?

I thought about doing that and I even got a quote from a great painter. I ordered the Leer 800 today. Leer said they could match the truck with no problem.

Procede with caution, I had a LEER 700 installed today on my 09 Platinum white sand tri-coat. They assured me the match would be perfect, also was charged additional 125.00 for custom paint. Its not even close to matching IT LOOKS LIKE TOTAL CRAP. I will post pictures this evening when i get home.

The Distributor who installed it today said it is out of their control. So they will call LEER Monday and see if anything can be done. They mentioned sending it back to LEER with my gas lid to match.

any opinions on what i should do? I just spent over $1300.00 to make my truck look 2-tone.

I would get them to send you another one that is unpainted as well as a written agreement that they will foot the bill for it to be painted at the painter of YOUR choice.

Toolcrib, your truck looks great!

Now I have second thoughts if maybe I should have went with the 800 instead of the LEER 700. The tag on the inside of my cover reads "White Chocoloate V-2 05139" this color does not match my truck, it is much lighter almost like white with a slight tint.

I tried to post pictures but have not been succesful with my uploads. Not sure what the problem is but when I get if figured out I will post them.

I finally took a picture of mine. It was installed in July. It looks great. It's not a perfect match, but it's close enough for me. I'm having a minor issue with the front seal (Leer never sent the dealer the velcro for the flap) but overall I'm satisfied.
