Over the rails liner

I have a 2006 screw, I would like to take my plastic rail liners off and get them sprayed. Has anyone done this? Will it look OK?
Thanks

Too much work.
My 6.5 foot bed has seventyeight holes under the caps.
I'm sure your supercrew has less, maybe only sixty.

Spraying top Rails

Anyone who sprays liners can easily cover the voids/holes with a foil tape and spray the liner material over top. These are areas that often receive more spray on material as they are vulnerable to strikes/blows when loading the bed. Ask you local spray liner dealer for his view...........

I think jmos26 was asking to spray the plastic covers. I asked and Line-x said they would not touch them. they said it would peel. I would like to see them done, because mine look terrible now.

Forget it.

If you want something other than the factory plastic rail caps showing, get aftermarket aluminum rail caps. They sit right on top of the factory caps.

I was suggesting that the original caps be removed, holes taped and "over the rail" liner product be applied. This is the same bed liner product but is sprayed all the way out of the bed and around to the top edge where the original caps had been installed. You can also let them spray the caps as is with "no warranty implied" if that is what you would like to try first. I know that the liner material sticks to almost anything.. and if the caps were lightly cleaned and sanded.. it would probably work..

You could, but another thing go consider is that the rails are not very nice looking underneath those caps.

Again, if you tape off the holes ( a common practice when spraying bed liners ) and add a good 1/4 inch of liner material to the top rails, it should look just as good or better than the original caps from the factory. Problem, the caps provided are a bit "cheap" for a working truck. I know the one on the tail gate comes off very easily....

I'm going to have to disagree with ya. It's not common practice to cover up holes that large of a size. It's also not common to apply 1/4" on the rails, that would not look good.
