Herculiner Help

I have been looking into Rhino liner recently and have strayed towards doing it myself with Herculiner mainly for price and the local Rhino liner dealer is completely incompetent. Just wondering if anyone else has used this and how it turned out. Waste of time/money?.. Just don't want it to look like crap

I never used Herculiner but I have used Durabak, in the inside of a 85 Dodge Prospector 4x4 I used to own..I took out the seat, cleaned the cab, scuffed the paint and rolled it on..It looked awesome when I got through with it.. There is even a spot on some concrete beside my house where I laid the roller..Its still there and that was about 7rs ago..Durabak is some good roll on liner..Take a look at their website.. About the same in price as Herculiner I believe..

I've got the Herculiner on my truck and did it all myself. It's all about the prep work and it will look better the more prep you do.

It took me a good solid weekend to get two coats down and I did the UV coat on top that gives it the shiny look like a clear coat.

As far as a diy kit the herculiner is the best going if you prep it properly. That is the key to any lasting bedliner.

Ditto on the prep work... spend a good 6 hours or more on prepping. Here are some tips when I did mine a couple years ago. It has held up pretty nice.

Herculiner Tips

I did pick up a $40 rubber mat for the bottom. I pretty rough on it and you can scratch through the Herculiner. But if you find the Herculiner on sale like I did its a really good deal.

I've done six trucks now with Herculiner, and I love it. Granted, it probably wouldn't hold up to "Contractor" type abuse, but for what I use it for, it works just fine. Prep work is the KEY to a good job, ABSOLUTELY. I'll spend a day prepping, taping, sanding etc, then start rolling on, and put the second coat on the next day, followed by the top coat, UV stuff. For the money, it can't be beat IMO. To each his own, if I could afford Line-X, I'd no doubt do that.
