Truck Box Attachment

I am loooking to fit a truck box in the back of my 150. Perhaps I am just ignorant but how is one supposed to attch them? I have some large spring toggle bolts which would do the job but I am somwhat hessitant to drill holes in the bed. There are no instruction/brackets in the box. I will need to drill 4 holes 3/4" to push the toggles through. Any advice as I do not want to drill into anything crucial?

You're talking about a toolbox, right?

If so, do you have a chest box that sits on the bed floor or do you have a box that sits on the bed's side rails?

Well, we use self-tapping screws and yes, we have to put holes in the truck bed.

Thumbs up

My large plastic box is fastened so it can quickly be removed if I need the full bed. I drilled three 1/4" holes through the back of the box and through the bed liner and headboard.Washers and nuts fasten the bolts to the headboard and liner. Then when the box slides in three wingnuts make the box secure but easy to remove ! Been there for 6 years without problems !! Getting the bolts through the headboard would have been easier if I had a 5 year old with little hands.Look carefully at the box and headboard for the best bolt placement as the headboard is double wall and the back of the box is not flat.
