Flareside cover fitting a styleside?

A buddy of mine has a white hardtop tonneau cover for his '02 F-150 stepside. he wants to sell it to me and insists that it will fit my styleside. whos right?

Styleside beds (what you have) are wider... that is how they fit the steps in and make the stepside even with the cab. Basically it will not fit your truck.
