Any Truxedo lo pro owners?

I can pick up a brand new one from a friend for only $150. How do you like it and how water tight is it?

Thanks.

I like mine. I keep the snow off of it, so it gets more dust inside than water. I've had a box of old parts in there for months, and the cardboard hasn't gotten wet at all.

$150 is a good deal. I would do it. They look sweet.

Cool. I'm going to go pick it up tomorrow. Thanks for the info. Sounds like it'll be perfect for what I need.

Just installed the Lo Pro. Very easy to instal. Works very well. I like how it automatically keeps the tarp tight and how the bows fold up with it. The tarp material could be a little thicker.. But I can't complain.

Hey 2008_XL, any tips on the installation? I just recently got a Lo Pro for my 2005 FX4. I'm going to be installing it as soon as I can. Read that to mean, as soon as the temperature hits something above the -23C (-9F) that it has been here recently.

Anyway, if you have any tips to ease installation, I'd love to hear them.

Now that's cold!!

First off, do you have the regular Lo Pro or the Lo Pro QT? If it's the QT, that's super easy and just uses the hand rachet type thing. The other just uses a wrench.

It's easier if you have a second person to hold the rails while you attach the clamps. Put the rails on so they're about 1/4" from the front of the bed (if you put them flush the rubber seal wont hang over the tailgate). Also, if they're not attached, make sure you put on the corner seals.

All in all, as long as you put the rails on the right way (with the tension adjust toward to cab side) it's really really easy and can be done in 15 mins. I'd also recommend getting a tailgate seal that goes along the bottom and sides of the tailgate. I used weather stripping from a hardware store and it's about as water tight as you can get. Even when I'm at the car wash using the high pressure hose, I haven't seen a drop of water get in to the bed.

Awesome, thanks! I got the QT. It decided to get colder instead of warmer and now we sit at -30C (-22F), but apparently it's supposed to get to around +2C (+35F) on Monday, so I might give it a try then. I do appreciate the tips!

i've adjusted mine up and down, forward and back. and still leaks water on all 4 corners? any ideas? also instructions say the back flap should be inside tail gate and now over when closed. some have posted it should fit over gate, not enough there for that.

I installed mine on my 09 with the rear seal over the top of the tailgate. I did have to have the rail about 1/2" from the front of the bed to get the seal to reach but there was still plenty of front seal left. It took two tries to get it positioned right. The first time I had the rails all the way forward and had 1/4" gap at the tailgate yet. I also used half of the tailgate seal and put it on the front on the bed to help seal dust out. I used the other half of the tailgate seal up both sides of the tailgate. The bottom sealed really well without any seal. So far I get some dust from the gravel roads but no water.

i also didn't like the tensioner. They said to tighten it down to have 1/16" of tensioner showing and to adjust it at the warmest part of the day. Well this seems wrong to me. If you adjust it this tight during the warmest part of the day when it is as stretched as it is going to be, then when it gets cold it will shrink some putting even more tension on it. Just didn't seem right to me so I just tighted it to have some tension on it.
