Gas cap question - please help

I installed a new gas cap and the check engine light comes on. I disconnected the battery and it reset and a few days later the light came on again. What can I do?

Thank you. mike

I take it you put a locking gas cap on,some brands don't work as well as others do.You may have too try a different brand of cap,a buddy had it happen to him on a chev pickup.

Yep just try another cap, you're not getting a good seal with this one and that is causing the light to come on, just as if you left the standard cap loose.
