Then I realized that the existing drain holes in the back of the bed were too high and the canister would probably cover them up. About 4.5 inches below the top of the bed rail.
So now I have to create my own drain holes no matter what cover I get. It is still my understanding that the American requires 4 drains. One at each corner of the bed. My understanding is that the FMJ only needs one.
I'm thinking about doing this in the large plastic/rubber covers at the bottom of the bed wall adjacent to the cab.

I've got the PE FMJR & Bed Rug after the first eight months (6,000 miles) I have the following comments:
Install was easy.
On my 06 flare side the drain plugs were towards the bottom of the front wall, so I was able to drill them and route them through the plastic plug.
After 5 months I got caught in a heavy storm, and it leaked bad. The bed rug wicked up the water and soaked my tools and every thing else. All of the tools' cardboard boxes were ruined.I had my work boots by the wheel well below one of the rails. The boot had three inches of water in it.
After examining the seal on the rails, they were not making contact along the middle section of the cover. Also the drain plugs at the canister and the canister leaked (That was an easy fix).
I called PE and told the what happened and asked what I could do to correct it. He basically said that the seals were not covered under the warranty and that it is not weather proof. (I expected some leaks at the tailgate.) I even reinstalled it with more shims and still have leaks.
For what I payed for it, I thought they would try to help me get it fixed but all I got was the warranty read to me.
Now everything in the back goes in a black trash bag.
I will go with a Leer 700, like on my Ranger, I go with a change.
I think my issue is related to the flareside rail design (the PE rails are tapered toward the tail gate. (My truck stays parked in a parking deck during the week)
I love the bed rug. The PE cover looks good.
