Line-X versus Line-X Xtra

I am new to the forum, I just bought a new 2006 f150 supercrew, and I wanted to get Line-X done.

What I am concerned about is that Line-X Xtra seems very new and I live in Arizona and I do not want the Xtra layer to flake off, since it seems like a urethane layer and it goes over the top of the Line-X layer.

My dealer wants and extra $200.00 for the Line-X Xtra.

Jim

Hey Jim! There is a member here by the name of TRUCKGASM who is a Line-X dealer and knows his product inside and out. I'm sure he will chime in here soon.

What I can tell you, however, is that neither Line-X nor Xtra will "flake off".

I'm interested in this also. I have about a two year old regular Line-X liner in my truck. While it still looks pretty good after two years of Texas sun it is getting slightly dull looking. Does anyone know if the Xtra layer can be sprayed on top of an existing liner?

Xtra for black has been out for about a year now. It's a GREAT product. Xtra is GUARANTEED not to fade, lose its gloss, or come off. Xtra for color matching just became available. I think $200 for black Xtra is a little high, but what is he charging you for the entire deal, bedliner and Xtra? I assume your SC has a 5.5 ft. bed?

Xtra can be applied to an existing bedliner, but best results occur when applied to a freshly sprayed bedliner.

Here's some pics of Xtra:

He wants 360 for the line-x and 200.00 extra for the line-x xtra.

Does that sound right?

Yes, that definitely sounds right. I would actually be slightly higher than the $560 total (unless you are a forum member ). I HIGHLY recommend Xtra.

Be sure he's selling you "Xtra" and not "Ultra Shield".

That box is a kit which contains enough chemicals for about 5 bedliners.

Ultra Shield is an older but very commonly used LINE-X product. Actually, we have it on our shop truck. If Ultra Shield is all the dealer offers, then get it. It's not as nice looking or as durable as Xtra, but it will keep the liner from fading and it costs less than Xtra.

Yes, LINE-X Xtra is now available for color matching. We use the factory paint code and get the exact color. Blue is no problem.

What are you doing in Chicago anyway? It's too cold there. You need to move on down here where it's warmer and the women wear less clothing.
