Big Mistake, can you remove a spray in BL?

Ok, I made a mistake. Long story but to make it short.

Is it possible to remove a recently sprayed in bedliner to get a different one redone?

Rather than having the original "fixed or repaired" due to bad application I would rather have it removed, cut my losses and get a different one put in.

Please don't dog pile me on this, I am already kicking the crap out of myself for getting this one.

Go buy one of the dewalt braided wire wheels for your grinder and start grinding, some bedliners are softer than others so the amount of time it will take will depeond on the brand of liner. Be sure to wear gloves and safety glasses buecase those wires fly out the further you get into the job, it will probably take a couple days of grinding but you can get it off. Don't worry about damaging the bed as the wire wheel will only take the paint off, it won't go through the steel.

Good luck!

Also, when you get done, your hands will be partially numb for a week or so.

Oh no, I don't recommend either of those methods.

We talked about a color match. You could pic the copper OR the beige trim color.

Go to a truck service box place, and find a take off bed that matches yours.

the heat gun and puddy knife will work to a small extent but not worth the effort, the grinder with the braided wire wheel is definitly your best bet, it will take off whatever was sprayed in there.

I agree with that. Even a poorly applied spray-in will compensate for the drop-in negative points.

If I had two spray jobs, I'd be out the cost of one spray job.
If I had one (bad)spray job and one drop-in, I'd be out the cost of one drop-in.

And a big plus would be no grinder, no heat gun, no putty knife, no worries.

Oh no !! Does this mean my spray in liner might flake off this winter? I hope it comes off in one piece then I can use it for a drop in.

If you wire wheel it, make sure to wear some sort of respritory mask. Even just a paper face cover will at least stop the big stuff from getting in your lungs.

Sorry dude

P.S. If it's a bad app, could you take it somewhere to have it done profesionally, and then backcharge the company that did the poor job? Not trying to tell you what to do.

We usually get them out by cutting them with a utility knife into about 2 inch wide strips and pulling them out with the help of a scraper...

Dang guys, I totally didn't mark this thread to remind me of replies..

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I got it worked out with Truckgasim...why does that sound strange to say outloud?

Anyway, I will be removing this POS liner after Christmas and having my local Line-x do it right.

Personally, I think I could just peel this one right off.

Put a cover over the bed and blast it with a stick of dynamite...

Just Kidding
