Tell the bedliner dealer to remove the bolts prior to spraying the bedliner and the reinstall them after the bedliner is applied. No big deal, we do that with 99% of our customers.

Tailgate bolts yes, bed bolts no. If my bed ever needs to come off, its because my truck got hosed in a collision. Most likely the bed is getting replaced. It looks much better with the bed hold down bolts sprayed. Plus its one less thing to beat up / rust.

A collision is not the only reason why the bed may need to come off.

Not a Ford, but the bed looks a little nicer when the hardware is removed first.

I agree---I think the bed looks cleaner with the hardware removed before the liner is sprayed.

You can remove them after and spraypaint the washerws adn tops of the bolts if you want the black look but still want the functionality of being able to remove them.

What is the difference between Line-X and Toff spray on bed liners? Also, I have pretty significant dents in my wheel wells where a pallet was shoved into it. Will the bedliner spray cover these up or should I hammer them out a little. Thanks!

Toff: Operates mostly in Texas, is a 100% polyurethane liner exactly like Rhino. Toff has downsized in the DFW area and myself and two other LINE-X dealers hired Toff's outside sales rep. Tear strength is 200 pli, temp tolerance is 212 degrees. (Actually, I doubt the 212 degrees, it's probably more like 175 degrees.), softer liner at Shore A 85. Toff uses a cold/low pressure application system, it gels in about 30 to 45 seconds, dries in about 45 minutes, cures in 24 hours. Warranty is only with the dealer that sprays it.

LINE-X: Polyurethane/polyurea blend, tear strength 304 pli, temp tolerance 250 degrees, uses a heat/high pressure application system (for better adhesion and a more uniform looking final texture), harder at Shore D 45, dries in 4 seconds (follows the bed's contours much better), cures in 24 hours. Warranty is lifetime valid nationwide.

Hard to say if the bedliner will cover those dings, need to lay an eyeball on it to see.

TruckGasm,

thanks for the info. Do you operate in the DFW area?

Let me know if you have any questions about any brand bedliner. If I have any information, I'll be glad to share it with you.

Truckgasm,

Do you (or any other liner installers here) normally spray liner on the tops of the side rails and tailgate as a replacement for the factory plastic protectors? Is that something that is/isn't recommended? And how much extra do you charge (if any) to do it?

We do not apply LINE-X to the plastic rail caps or tailgate cap. Plastics can be sprayed but plastics are a little tricky. You're better off buying aftermarket aluminum or steel rail caps and then, if you wish, have those LINE-X'd.
