Help!! Problems with Tonneau Cover!!!!!!!

I have a hard bed (Tonneau) cover on my 2004 F150. The bed cover came with the vehicle when I bought it last year at a local Ford dealership. Over the past couple of months bubbles have appeared on the cover (it appears that some sort of clear coat or something is bubbling up).
I first noticed the bubbles after it rained one day. The bubbles are now cracking and the clear coat, or whatever it is, is totally peeling off. After the stuff peels off it leaves behind a white residue that will not come off.

Has anyone seen or heard of anything like this? Also, I am not sure what brand Tonneau cover is on my truck. I cannot find a brand name anywhere. It looks like it may be an Undercover Tonneau cover. I need to find out the brand name as I am sure it is still under warranty.

I would greatly appreciate any help.

It's Undercover

Well, I found out that my Tonneau cover is made by Undercover. It has a 3 year warranty. I am going to contact the company to see if they will take care of this problem.

Sounds like it was sprayed with something after it left Undercover's hands. My Undercover doesn't have a coating of any kind on it.

Smile Problem Solved!!!

I just spoke with Dave Lyons from Undercover's warranty department. I explained the problem that I have been experiencing.

Mr. Lyons told me that about two years ago a company approached them with a new formula for their polymers used to make their product. They used the new formula for approximately 3 weeks. They stopped using that formula because they noticed the finshed product was too glossy. Two years later, they are noticing that many of the covers produced within that 3 week time frame are peeling (just like mine).

Mr. Lyons told me that since I am not the original purchaser of their product the warranty usually does not apply. However, he said that since they are aware of the problem, they are going to send me a brand new cover to replaced the damaged one.

I was very impressed by Mr. Lyons and how professional he was. He could have easily just told me that I was out of luck. Anyway, just thought I would share my story.

I'm not surprised at all. After reading that the newer models come with a factory LED bed light, I emailed Undercover asking to obtain one for an older model. My email went out at 2 in the morning Saturday. I got a response less than 8 hours later. Ray Daigle emailed me David Lyons contact info. and suggested I call him Monday. Never got the chance. Mr. Lyons had emailed me pricing info. before I got to work.
They could've told you to blow it out yer arse, but instead chose to stand behind their product.
That's the kind of service I like, and yet another reason I'll recommend their product to anyone.

That's great service and integrity.
