tailgate hard to shut after bedliner sprayed

anyone had this problem? i just got my tailgate line-x'd and i noticed that they sprayed the sprnigs and all in the latching assembly. and also, now my tailgate is off center and hard to close. i called the line-x dudes and they said i need to have the tailgate realigned...which means i need to drive back down and have them fix it. they also said that there should be no problems of the springs being sprayed...in my opinion, have you aver seen painted springs before?

if anyonje has some tips or tricks for realigning the tailgate, i would greatly appreciate it (in case i need to remove it again)!

mahalos!

I'm no expert, but I find it strange that they sprayed your springs and latching mechanism.

We spray the latching mechanism every day. I have never had a problem. It won't stick to that greasy metal in there any way. So just peel it off. Think of it as high priced rustproofing.

If you need to adjust the alignment just loosen the studs where the latching mechanism locks to the truck side. Just move it back a very small amount and retighten.

Tight tailgates happens from time to time. At least you know he didn't skimp on the material. Tight tailgates only happens when you spray too thick.

thanks for the info...well, i got it back from the line-x dudes and they said the exact same thing. it is really tight though. to the point where the trunk "pops" out when you open the latch. i'll try the readjusting of the posts. they also cleaned up th over spray.

thanks again!
