In the market for some sort of hardcore spray-in bedliner, and I dont know which way to go.
Some people I talk to are all about Rhino-Liner spray in bedliner. Others I speak with, are diehard Line-X fans. I have seen both installed on trucks,and I actually like the look of the Line-X, as the Rhino seems to be abit soft.
So, which route should I take with my new F-150. Please let me know what you have heard/experienced/dealt with/etc...
Rhino was the first major one on the market and with the lifetime warranty has a very good name. However about 2 years ago I read a very technical indepth article about Line-X. I don't remember all the details but with what I have read I definetly will be going with Line-X. I think it looks a little better. Don't think you can go wrong with either one.
Line x for sure. Saw a show where they had a contract now to spray it on the inside walls new govt. building to contain blast damage. I hope your truck wont be hauling anything that crazy in the bed. Loud noise scare fish....loud noise scare fish.....not good bait.
I have a rhino lining in my truck and am pretty happy with it.I love the fact that when you put stuff back there it does not slide around and is a little soft.I am a little disappointed with the fade and color differance once it gets a little beat up.From what I have seen from Line-X it seems to hold up better to the elements.
I have a Line-X and love it! The only downfall with the Line-X in my opinion is when it gets dirty. It can be a task to clean sometimes. Other than that, no cracking, slight fade after sitting in sun, and still look brand new everytime I clean it

I have Line-X, and I love it! I have had load of mulch stone, pavers, and sod. Some of the loads have been slid into the bed on pallets or just dumped in. No scratches or gauges hauling any of it! It does suck to clean, but with a little work it comes right back to life. Take it for what it's worth!

As far as hauling stuff in this truck, it will be mostly people (cab), and my bike to and from shops/service/etc..
I really wanna get it lined becasue I know the bed will get destroyed if I dont do something to it..
Clean your existing LINE-X bedliner by scrubbing it with automotive soap/water, let it dry, apply Just Once (www.justonce.com) or 303 Aerospace. If the bedliner is heavily soiled, use CLR cleaner available at Wallymart type stores. For those thinking about a new LINE-X bedliner, opt for LINE-X Xtra. With Xtra (a one time application), no fading, no loss of gloss, maintenance free, guaranteed.
What cuases Line X to chip and peel? I work at an airport and our Dodge Ram has Linex. I was thinking about Line X until I saw this truck and the bad shape of the Line X. Its badly chipped and peeling and the bed gets light use, usually trash bags. The truck pretty much only tows our utility trailer. Now I am leaning heavily toward Rhino. COuld this be just a defect or the effects of time?
If installed correctly, no brand should peel (although there are a few exceptions). So, peeling is an installation problem, not a product problem. As far as chipping, most likely the bedliner is too thin. Again, another installation problem.
Here's Rhino that's peeling. Most likely a bad prep job and/or the chemicals were out of ratio.
