Question Bedliner Recoat

What are the options and cost if you're wanting to "recoat" your liner? Just for looks, no damage.

What is your goal in doing so? Are you wanting to restore the color?

Pretty much. The color has faded and finish softened over the years. I also want to make the liner a little thicker.

Rhino. I went back to the place but the owner changed to "a higher quality" type of liner. He wasn't too interested in recoating even though I told him I'd be more than happy to pay for it.

I'm a LINE-X dealer.

Recoating is a bad idea. It may not stick well in some places and my begin to peel. Take it back to the dealer that sprayed it and see what he says. The thinness maybe a warranty issue.

Rhino has a product called Rhino Shine that will partially restore the color. It's nasty stuff and it will peel off. You will have to apply it several times a year.

Another option is to use Just Once (www.justonce.com). It's much easier to use, is not slippery, has a UV protectorant, and you can get it off the internet. One 15oz bottle should last you about a year.

Consider having it stripped out and a new liner sprayed in. We recently stripped a Rhino out. We snapped a few pics first (bed is wet in some areas):

No joke, mine is nowhere near that bad. It's just faded, no damage as previously stated.

Yep, it's bad. They may have put that Rhino Shine on it. It restores the color but flakes off the liner after a while.
