Unhappy Tonneau Cover Woes!

Greetings. I recently bought a 2001 F150 SuperCrew. It cam ewith a bedliner (Duraliner, I think) as well as a tonneau cover. THe cover is possibly factory - I contacted a dealership that did confirm it was available that year. However, they don't do parts.

Here's the rub. It's a low profile snap down cover. The side rails clamp onto the bedsides and the head and tail rails are attached to the sides with plastic 90s that fit into the rails with a tension screw. All four of the corners are broken, so the cover won't go on and stay.

I've talked to several folks about getting replacement parts. They have all told me that I need the manufacturer name, which should be on the underside of the cover itself. Mine has no visible markings on the underside, so no one can help as of now.

So, do any of you have any suggestions on how to determine/find a fix for this? I haven't resorted to junk yards yet; there aren't any close to me.

Thanks,
vacoffee

I'm having a tough time trying to picture this.

Most tonneaus I've seen are secured to the bed by anywhere from 4-8 aluminum type clamps. That's pretty much all there is to keeping them on.

From your description it reads like the cover itself is damaged. One of the many reasons I don't like the covers with snaps. I'm sure the manafacturer would have a replacement cover available, but without knowing whom that is makes it kind of difficult to find out.

Maybe I'm way off base here, but I would think any replacement snap cover ordered in the correct box size would adjust to the frame you already have on your truck. The snap fittings slide don't they? Have you checked E-Bay, seems like they have just about everything.

If all else fails you can get a whole new system fairly reasonably $150-200.....Good luck

I also am looking for the plastic 90 degree corners for the factory tonneau cover. If anyone has any for sale from one they are not using or have taken off for the same reason I would buy 2 or 3.
