I am looking for a bedliner and really like the look and feel of the Bed Rug (got the free sample last week). My question is, how does this thing hold up when sliding plywood, lumber, etc, into the truck? Will the plywood edge tear up the fibers? Also, would setting something heavy on it for an extended period of time leave a mark (like a piano or desk on home carpeting)?
Heavy objects leave 'dents' but it seems to bounce back every time. I haven't left anything heavy in the back for more than a day, so I don't know how it would bounce back after prolonged exposure.
Plywood, etc... won't tear the liner. Sharp metal corners may. Another guy on here convinced me when he showed his open bed & bedrug piled up with branches, logs, etc... and then after he cleaned it. Looked like new. Said he hauls crap like that all the time. Little wood bits are harder to get out of the fibers, but a good high-pressure wash works well.
As for sliding stuff on the rug, it works very well. Kinda like sliding stuff across your living room carpet. Easy yet stuff seems to stay in place.
I have two trucks with a bed rug, and love how they look and hold up. In my truck when I am going to haul something nasty I put down a piece of cardboard, but I keep the bed clean I find a small vacume cleaner makes for easy clean up, I wouldent have any other bed liner
for some reason i have always thought bed rugs were just like bedmats, with carpet lol but now thanks to this post, i looked it up... and DAMN those things sound nice... im gonna have to get one
I have hauled every imaginable nasty object on my Bedrug. Thorny branches, plywood, drywall, lumber, toolboxes, gas cans, lawnmowers.... nothing has phased it. Last week, I shoveled about 500 pounds of broken plaster from a ceiling that caved in into the bed to haul off to the trash and, while it did take a good amount of effort with the shop vac, it looks like new again.
I even had some issues with spills of various nasty liquids including gas, oil, and even large blood pool (DO NOT ASK) and all cleaned up with the use of proper chemicals and such.
I highly reccomend the Bedrug to anoyne with a truck.

I'll second that! One of the many things I like about the Bedrug is that it looks and feels like carpet, but is actually plastic. No worries about it getting nasty from being wet. Sure makes hauling stuff easier-just sliiiiide it in.

So ya finally managed to get that rat bastard that was knockin' your trashcans down every week, eh?
I like your truck Love the black motif, wanted to do it to mine, but didnt know what it would look like mixed with chrome... especially the pieces i wanted to put on it... (brush guard, running board, chrome grille, etc..) but i like it always been a fan of black cars... and trucks? those things look beastly when black.
