ultra shield

my local line-x dealer gave me an option on appling a product called ultra shield to my line-x. has anyone have experience with this product? is this product applied on top on the line-x? will it scratch? does it make the line-x look different? any suggestions would be appreciated

I'm a LINE-X dealer. Ultrashield is a UV topcoat. It gives the liner a sort of satin finish. It's also a little darker than regular LINE-X. I think it sometimes shows scratches. Not that it's scratched, but it just shows scratches. You can easily remove it by putting a conditioner on the scratch like Just Once or 303 Aerospace. It will definately keep the liner from fading and is well worth it. How much is he charging you for it?

he's charging $40 dollars, doesn't seem like much. i just got my truck done today and it looks great, not too much different from my friends rhino, but feels tougher and looks a little more even (better); only time will tell if it's actually better. will it be to late to put ultra shield on since it's already dry etc. i don't know if they mix it in or whatever. i choose not to use it because i haven't read anything about it (so it must not be important enough for people to recommend us to use it) and don't know anything about it. i figured i will do what everyone else does, clean it and add some just once to it.
thanks for the reply

$40 is a good price. For best results, it should be applied right after the bedliner is sprayed in. So, don't worry about not getting it, most people don't. I do suggest that you get some Just Once (www.justonce.com) or 303 Aerospace and apply it to the liner a few times a year. If you do this, the liner will always look as good as new.

the dealer told me not to use anything like armorall or any product which i use to put on the dash to make it look shinny. he mentioned he tried it and was not happy with the results and what it does to it.

is just once or 303 aerospace like an armorall protectant people use to put on their dashes?

He is partially correct, do not use products that are oil based or silicone based. Both Just Once or 303 Aerospace are oil and silicone free. I prefer Just Once. You can use it on your interior also.

Spray some Just Once on the liner and use a cotton towel to spread it. It will have no affect on the look of your new liner. It WILL preserve the blackness and the sparkle that you now see. Apply Just Once every 3 or 4 months.
