Line-X Thickness

I noticed a small tear in my Line-X bedliner this weekend. I was as surprised with the tear (just moving a washer and dryer in and out) as I was with the thickness of the liner that I discovered. It's only about 1/16" thick. I was told prior to installation that it would 3/16" to 1/4" thick in the bed. Any of you guys know how thick your Line-X is in the bed?
I know it can be repaired easily but think if I'm getting a little cheated here with the thickness, or lack of.

Yes, it can be repaired (for free). LINE-X corporate states that the bedliner should be up to 1/4" on the bed and up to 1/8" on the sides. If you think your liner is too thin, then you should complain about it.

Thickness!!!

jjohn85,

The issue of Line-X “Thinness” is an easy one, I just went over the franchise documents and it states (.125”) to be sprayed on the floor of the truck. Last time I checked that was 1/8th not 1/4th, I would only complain to the Line-X if you are getting any flack in trying to get it fixed. This is a very common thing to happen on the tail gate knowing that someone is sliding something in excess of 200+ lbs. on the edge of a tail gate. If you ask the Line-X to bring out there ElcoMeter and mic the bed for you to make sure it is .125” that would be great, other than that the stuff is not bullet proof. Put it this way if you gouge your plastic tail gate cap your going to gouge your liner. Not one company can produce a product that is impermeable to elements, I say this “Great customer service can make up for the product failure as long it is within the reasonable, expected specifications set forth by the company.”

125 mils is equal to 1/8" which equals .125". 125 mils is the absolute minimum required but not the thickness you get if you follow the spraying instructions. If you follow the spraying instructions, which shows 4 to 6 passes on the bed, you actually get less than 250 mils, but more that 125 mils, hence "up to 1/4". Rhino's instructions (both Tuff Stuff and Durabond) indicate a minimum of 62.5 mils, which is 1/16". But, they advertise and also suggest "up to 1/4".

These are the minimum thicknesses according to LINE-X:
125 inches (125 mils) on front Bulkhead
.125 inches (125 mils) on bed floor area
.125 inches (125 mils) on both wheel wells
.080 inches (80 mils) on both bed sides
.090 inches (90 mils) on the tail gate area
.125 inches (125 mils) on top of bed rail (if applicable)

I haven't had time to take this by the Line-X dealer yet with the holidays and travel for work. I'm hoping to get in touch with them next week to discuss. I'm not really looking for 1/4" thickness (1/8") would be fine. I just think that 1/16" is too thin. I'll let you guys know how it goes.
