debating on which retractable tonneau cover to go with.

I was pretty much set on getting the rollnlock. Now I've done some searching & found a lot of good things said about retrax. Then I found out about a company called truck covers usa. They have a retractable tonneau that will support 300 lbs. On thier website they have one installed on a 2001 Scab, looks sharp.

Anyone with info on these covers?

how much is the Retrax? did you install it yourself or have it done by a dealer? i've been sold on the Pace-edwards electrc bedlocker, but now I am rethinkg that since it is pretty expensive and not necessary to have it retract electrically (though it is cool).

I installed the Retrax myself. It is a painless process - just could use someone to help you set it into place. Costwise, it is more expensive than the manual P/E or RollNLock, but cheaper than the P/E electric model.

in case anyone is interested there are more pics of a Retrax cover on a 2004 Screw in my gallery. Retrax sent me these pics so I could see it on a 2004. Unfortunately they didn't have it on a 6.5' bed. the customer sevice seems to be outstanding. the rep was very helpful on the phone.

I've just installed the Pace Edwards JackRabbit cover on my 2004 Supercrew Lariat. The new cover fit the truck like a glove and I like the look of a vinyl cover and the knowledge of metal security that lies underneigth it. I looked at the Retrax, but it was just too smooth and plastic looking.

Just for those who have seen the JackRabbit on previous models of the f-150.... Pace Edwards has this new top fitting so..... much better.

Which ever way you go I think both are Great covers!

Talking Talk about service!!!

Just got my retrax today!!! Gonna have great weather this weekend to put it on. The lock cover is on backorder, but I wasn't expecting the order to be shipped for another week or so.

I should have pics up this weekend.

hey whitesnake, can i trouble you for two more pics of the Retrax? i'd like to see the tailgate open and the cover retracted all the way. also, i'd like to see the cover retracted with the tailgate closed. if you can post those in your gallery and let me know here, that would be much appreciated. thanks!
