I really love the way my Bedrug looks and feels on the knees, but I am really starting to grow dis-satisfied with it.
The biggest thing is the flaps on the side of the truck (where it 'tucks' under the rails) keep popping out on the highway. The Velcro along the midline holds it in, but the flaps go free. The Tailgate keeps coming loose also for reasons I cannot understand.
I am also very tired of having to broom sweep it every 3 days to get the crap out of it. All sorts of tree debris and such gets caught in the zipper line around the base and it won't blow out on the road like my old hard bedliner did... with that all I had to do was drop the gate and drive down the road at 55 for a few miles and it was all cleaned out... not the Bedrug.
In all, its a good product, but I am starting to think that, long term, I am not going to be happy with it.
I have had it in there for about 4 months now and these problems have been evident from the beginning.
Anyone else have these problems/observations about the Bedrug?
I have a Retrax sitting waiting to install, but I can't get 2 hours in daylight and no rain to do it and its starting to irritate me... I really need to ge tthat installed. I know it will cure all of my issues with the Bedrug, but I can't help but know that it will do that if I need to take the Retrax off or leave it open for anything.
I am REALLY considering gewtting some new Velcro and selling it and getting a Line-X but I am just not sure. The only things I am sure of are: (1) I cannot be without a Bedliner and (2) I will not go back to a drop in liner.

The sweeping out is what got to me with a Bedrug. I haul hay sometimes and a rug is not the thing to have with that! As far as the stick-on velco...make sure it is nice and hot when you put them on, it makes a big difference. If you get a cover, it will resolve some of your problems. I've tried them all, rugs, drop-ins and spray liners, they all have there disadvantages when it comes down to it. Good luck to ya.
I've got the Retrax / BedRug combo in my Screw and love it. However, I only do a minor amount of "heavy hauling" (pretty much limited to weekend landscaping projects or camping gear and mountain bikes).
If I was hauling hay or a lot of rough lumber or the like, I could definitely see a problem with that stuff sticking to the Rug. Even with my limited hauling use I often have difficulties cleaning the sticky stuff out of the Rug.
Seems like for heavy-duty usage, the spray in liners are probably the way to go, but for my purposes the Rug was the way to go and I'm glad I have it.
Once you get the cover on, all your problems will be resolved.
While the bedrug is a "stand alone" product, I find it does work best with a bed cover.
I can only echo what others have said...
If you normally haul straw, hay, gravel, go with the line-X, but if you use your bed for more of an oversized trunk, then the bedrug is the better choice.
Wait until you try to haul a unit of barkdust! It took a carpet shampooer to get it clean.
Also, wait 'till the green stuff starts growing in the corners - I've had mine for ~1.5 years now, uncovered, and the moss is starting grow - then again, this is Portland

Had mine for about a year and a half and still like it a lot. When mine was installed I had them tuck the top part of the bedrug under the plastic side rails. It took a little effort but it's held tight.
I did have the tail gate part come off but got some more velcro from Bedrug and it's been fine ever since.
I normally don't have a problem with grass and stuff from my kids soccer games. The worst stuff to get out of the rug is dog hair. I carried a bunch of plastic bags of garbage and they leaked onto the rug. I took my hose and a bit of soap and scrubbed and washed the stained parts. It looks like new.
I guess the bottom line is if you haul around stuff that sticks to a carpet and you hual it on a regular basis, then you might want to go with a spray in...
