Sorry!!! This is the kit I did get. It's the same numbers, I changed the numbers to this one in the first post as it's the correct one. The box has this number but my bill had the other.

Price is not an option for me when it comes to quality and making something look factory. I'm not saying what the other guys purchase is not quality but I'm a BIG fan of making my aftermarket installations look factory.

Larry I'm interested but I have an 07. Will this work in my truck? I'm looking to that whole kit though, the cup holder lights and what ever else comes in the 2010 with ambient lighting.

Awesome Mod and nice write up. I did something similar with my '01 but I built my own kit. I think it ran me like $45 for the 5 lights and switch I used. Anyway looks really nice.

Part number for the Ambient Light Kit for my Lariat 2010 is 8L8Z-13E700-AA (no rings). Canadian list price is about $350. My cost ended up being $313. Dealership quoted me 4-5 hours to install. Actual time to install came in at 2.6 hours. I'm sure 1/2 the time was spent on reading the installation manual. Mind you, Ford changed the console for the 2010 model year. They couldn't mount the second LED in the front cup because in Ontario (Canada) its illegal to have a LED pointed in the direction of the driver. Instead it was placed in the compartment in front of the cupholders. Push switch was mounted on the kick panel. Still happy with the result.

I have blue LED's under my front dash, and LED's under my front seats to light up the rear seating area. ($7.99 per flex strip)

And the LED's that ford has can be purchased for about $4.00 a piece. With wiring you could do the same thing yourself for under $50 from Oznium.com, another option from people thinking of doing LED lighting.

Rear Seat

and LED dome lights:
how did you do the dome lights?

A couple people told me the ambient lighting is standard on the 2010's. is this true? I ordered a 2010 fx2 last week

I don't think it's standard on the FX2. It wasn't even offered as an option on my 2010 Lariat. I believe it comes standard on the Platinum only.

It comes standard on the Harley, Platinum, and Lariat Limited for 2011. I bought the 8L8Z-13E700-AA kit and decided not to install, it will be listed in classifieds cheap as soon as I get 10 posts.

no it is not. i have personally installed one the factory one is better. this is two rods and two bulbs the factory does not use rods, and have the bulbs every where. my advice if you want it buy it when you order the truck.

very cool and great write up. but although its a Ford part #, I dont think its the same one that comes on the HD and Platinum models. Im pretty sure you could purchase the cup holder rings and any other parts the factory installed kit brings. Im a big fan of OEM quality stuff but with all the ricer LED companies out there, Im sure you can acquire a similar look for less money.

How can we get our hands on the factory kit?
I would much rather install it into my 11 FX4 than just this Ford accessory kit.
I think having the factory switch, clear cup holder and backseat light makes this feature a lot nicer. I ordered the standard kit but might tell the dealer I do not want it anymore after learning this.
