possibly, i havent been under a 97 dash myself. Ill try and get Paul to take a look under his truck soon to find out for sure.

Its up there pretty far, basically forward of where your knees are when seated in the turck

ok thanks. that would be great. i followed the wire all under there from where it goes out of the cab up to where it connects up by the cluster.

yeah, mine was way off and I just found out that white bracket that holds the adjuster in place broke. The rest of it is very brittle; piece of garbage. $35 to replace? Jeeeeeez. That's almost as bad as $25 for a pack of 10 o-rings for the fuel injectors I was robbed for at the Ford Stealership.

Worked perfect and I also found the 2 torxs screws where almost backed all the way out after tighting them up i was able to adjust the selector thanks you. The screws where a big part as well there no slop in my selectore now thanks for the info pat.

well being i cant find mine...there has to be another way of adjusting it right? maybe just in a different spot? this would be a great help to me as sometimes when i get in the truck it wont start until i bump the gear shift so it points in the right spot. there has to be an adjustment somewhere...right? lol
