How to Paint Headlights

I was quoted $150 for each to have mine powder coated..on the to do list!!!

Theres two other black trucks on here who had theres done. They said it matched perfectly.. I would give it a shot...

my local shop quoted me 150 bucks cash to blast the bumper and epoxy paint it to match, he recommended that over powder coating them, i don't know why though.

Sorry guys I have to jump in on this one. To give you a little background on my self I worked in a body shop for several years but I still do it on the side. With that being said I would recommend wiping down the lights after you sand them with alochol (be careful may case more trouble) or something to get the finger prints/oil from your fingers off the area to be painted.
On painting or powder coating you could get an exact match with painting over powder coating. As far as cost should be around the same amount. The powder coating is durable but it depends on what look you are going for. Hope this helps!!!

I have done tons of reading up on painting chrome. I have heard yes and no! Also heard it will only stick for a little while. What is the process on painting it? As I am doing something to mine this spring.

Ok as far as painting chrome I am thinking that you will need to sand blast the chrome off the item then turn around and prime it with an epoxy primer. Once that is done let it dry and sand it down prep it and paint it. As far as the headlights being blacked out I think that you would run into some trouble because you would need to media blast them then black them out. Hope this helps.

I just put a roll pan to replace the rear. just another option, looks clean. heard that painting crome doesn't last. no 1st hand experience though.

Did this today and everything was a breeze, except sanding was a pain in the rear! They do look damn good though.

Krylon fusion with a satin finish. Its made for plastic and bonds really good. No primer needed on mine!
