I was thinking about trying either the Herculiner or the other one available. I dont want to spend 400 bucks for a spray in. My dad just got his new S10 extreme a rhino liner and is already peeling after a month and a half. My truck is a couple years old and has some scratches and dings in the bed. It's a truck, its supposed to. Anyway if anyone has any experience with these please speak up. I will probably do this soon.
i have seen the herculiner on several trucks and it looks pretty good to me...i bought the kit a while back, am planning on covering a tilt trailer i have....anyway, like 2000 said, do the search, there were some really good pics on these liners back in the summer, i think...Rich
hey clarkber. i have had the hurculiner in my truck for over 4 months now and i must say it is the best deal of ANY bedliner i have had and seen. i have recommended it to dozens of people over the line-x, rhino, and all others it has a good grip to it and is very durable. and for the price no one can touch it. ford15098
I'm getting the herculiner kit from sams club for xmass. I should be able to do multiple coats on the shortbed. My dad got a rhino liner srayed in his truck and it isnt that great. I think you're right, for the money it's a great deal.

Our F-150 SuperCrew has been complemented with a Line-X spray in bed liner. We are very happy with its non slip and durable properties. Truck friends familiar with the drop in liners are quite impressed too.
As with all exterior products I am watching the liners ability to withstand the wide temperature variations we experience in my area. 100F in summer to -40F in winter!
The box is now water tight. If moisture (rain, snow etc) remains in the box, the liner does discolor to a dark gray. The next drive usually dispenses of all moisture and the liner colour returns to black. I suspect color match or tinted liners may react similarly.
Clean up is a snap with pressure spray and/or a little scrubbing.
I cannot comment on the other spray in applications, however, we are very happy with Line-X.
How hard and what all is involved in putting the herculiner in? I am considering doing this because like yall said, i really dont see any sense in going out and spending $400 on a spray in when i can basically get the same thing for a fraction of the cost. THanks guys.
Hunter 4x4 - I have a Herculiner too and I love it. I had the help of one person which I suggest because it took a whole weekend. It is a process... sanding down the bed (not too much, just enough to give it some roughness), then you will actually apply two coats and you have to wait approx 4 hours between coats. Looks great too!
I rolled in the Herculiner kit into the bed of my 65 Ranchero. Came out nice, but it's very rough. My 99 F150 has the Rhino liner installed. It's not as rough, but thicker than the two coats I installed. The Herculiner is cheaper but there are some working limitations. I rolled the first coat on a Saturday and the second coat on Sunday. The recoat window between coats is 24hrs. Give yourself enough time because you should do this outside.

I used the Dupli-color version on the sides & front of my bed this fall; time will tell how it does. (I bought the truck used & removed the existing liner as it was just a way of catching water when it rained.) I experimented with the aeresol first; it's smoother but won't go very far. The odor for both the aeresol & the roll-on was very, very strong; I wore a mask & made sure I had good ventilation. "4 Wheel & Off-Road" recently did a comparison of different brands of liners; I believe it was the December issue.
Just got done today putting in a Herculiner. will let you know how i like it. recomend two people for the job. tailgate can be a pain to get off by yourself. Had to fix a dent in the bed at same time so took a couple days but saves money. Take your time and get it right. Dont splash on the paint or clothes. I heard its a real pain to get off once its on.
I'm going to spend the time and do this soon. Saves money so I can afford more mods. I did a search on Herculiner and I couldn't find those awesome directions someone on here posted. Can someone send me the link? I've found that the search option on this site is almost useless.
On some of these pics the Herculiner looks kind of reflective and bright where as the spray in's are usually dull or flat and not reflective at all. Is the herculiner reflective or dull? I personnaly think the dull finish would look better on this type of coating.
