Consensus on restoring faded black molding

Did everyone agree on what the best remedy is for restoring the plastic bed rails, windshield cowl, bumper trim, etc on our trucks?

Repainting my bed rails was the only way I could restore those. I use wipe-new for everything else. Looks great and lasts a long time.

I doubt you will ever get EVERYONE to agree on anything. Painting with a plastic coating was my only solution.

You happen to have any before and after pics my brother? How does it endure? I need to do my bed rails.

I think I have seen other threads using a certain kind of paint, roughing it up first. I know there is a how to specifically on the painting the cowl. Check it, I thought about doing this for all my faded plastic.

I hate all the plasti-dip usage, but I will admit... I used it on my plastic bumper valance. Held up for 2 years now. I'm eventually going to a painted 3d Carbon valance so this is just temporary.

No pictures but I think there is a How To thread in the Articles and How To forum. Check the index. I painted the cowl and the rails. Still looked good when I sold the truck about 3 years later.
