So I've been looking at the exterior of my truck and I'm liking the majority of it and there are a few things that I want to change but one major one is the mirrors, where can I find either the color matched top part of the mirror? All I can find is chrome and tbh I'm not a big chrome guy (If I could do it for not too much money I would swap out all the chrome with color matched pieces). Or what towing mirrors fit on the 04-08 f150? I'm pretty handy with a soldering iron so I am comfortable with running wire and getting everything that I can functional. Thanks for any input.

 

Remove your mirror glass and get the 4 torx screws holding the exterior cover on, and go have your textured unit painted ( after you sand the top smooth and mask the bottom ). Works very well, the exact way I paint matched all of my exterior plastics.

Wondering if there was a place I could get the BLACK one piece mirror caps?

The dealership wants 250 for the entire mirror assembly, and all the shops online only list the stupid gaudy 2 piece chrome caps.

I could not find a part # for any of the mirror cap pieces. Only the skull caps on the removable mirror caps have part numbers. So there aren't any 'cap only' options unfortunately, its whole mirror or na-da. I would go to a salvage yard and try finding a pair of caps, or a pair of mirrors for cheap as I doubt anyone will sell the mirror cap without the body.
