Figured It Out Maybe

Ok here are some before, during, and after pics. The Rustoleum seems a little blotchy. Hopefully it cures and goes away after a few days.

Did you end up clear coating it and how has it held up?

Do we need self etching primer for the rockers if the paint is fine?

I started out just wanting to do the chrome step bars, but then thought I might as well do the front/back bumpers and rockers to match and be more consistent in the look.

With the rustoleum bed liner spray cans, you're best best is to scuff up the paint before applying. I've used this stuff many times.

I'm gonna have to remove both the front and rear bumpers on my 08 FX4. They're ptm factory and have some rusty spots and bubbles.

Rustoleum aerosol bed liner

What kind of clear coat would I use over the bed liner? I'm using it on my new fenders for my black dodge ram
