Help with Pricing and Part #'s

Ok, I talked to my dad about doing LT Handles and I had found a painted set on ebay. He told me to look into them directly from Ford so I looked on Tasca's website. I have an extended cab, so I only need the drivers and passengers as well as the tailgate. Now I do not have a key pad currently and really do not need it. It appears they do come with it but I need the manual key hole to be safe as well. Any ideas if the $206.95 price includes both driver/pass side handles and the tailgate? And is that the best price available? ALso, my truck is an XLT but would I even have the wiring for the keypad and if not, what do I do with it?

Sorry for all the questions guys... I appreciate any help I can get

I think I've read on here that most trucks come with the wiring to hook up the keypad. someone else will chime in but yeah I think I've read they do. You can ask someone at Tasca probably

I would think that the easiest way to find out if you had the wiring would be to take the door panel off the inside and look for the connector up near the handle somewhere.

I would look on mine but I have an STX and my power locks are aftermarket.

Thaks dude... my big question is can they be used even if I don't have the keypad wiring? Would my power locks still work?

yeah just don't connect the keypad to anything, and i don't see why your locks would stop working

i think it would be better if you got the $25 LT Handles and have them professionally painted along with your mirror caps i think it would come out to be the same in the end (to the $210)

Ask Bluejay about the keypad. He bought a keypad handle for his XLT and the dealer had to do some stuff to make it work.

My 2008 XL Screw with power locks had the wire in the door.

Did it work without changes? My main concern is being able to use my locks. I don't care about the keypad that much. It would be nice but not a necessity

It did work without any changes. I plugged it in, used the code from the card that I got when I bought the truck new in December, and it worked. I can't use it though b/c I have the Viper alarm on the truck, but it was on the painted handles that I got a good deal on so I went with it. Once you disarm the Viper from the remote you can use it, but the doors are already unlocked from the disarming.

Ok... I have an aftermarket myself, so I will prolly just skip the keypad and just use the power locks. DO you think I would have any issues?

Which brand do you have? I think some of the Code Alarm models work with the keypad.

I just googled it. It is the same thing as Code Alarm. I would check with KC Autosound on this website to see if he can help you identify the model number and/or if it will work with the keypad.
