Need help with sticky glue crap

My wife has a Pioneer 6 disc CD changer in her car. The remote head unit is small and sticks to her dash with velcro. In this Arkansas heat it won't stay stuck. She wants it moved.

Two questions.
1. Does anyone know of a better way to mount that little 4 inch by 1 inch control head OTHER than velcro? Some sort of simple bracket??

2. I have tried EVERYTHING to get the glue goo off the dash. Acetone, Simple Green, alcohol, other cleaners. NOTHING breaks up the glue goo and gets it off. Going tonight to get some "Goo Gone" Any other ideas for products.

ALL help much appreciated. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

I heard brake fluid works pretty good. Just be careful with it since it will eat thru stuff

get an ice cube and rub it on the glue until the glue gets cold. it will harden the residue and you can chip it off with a plastic scraper.

as for mounting it with a bracket, visit your local hardware store and look around. be creative and im sure something will come to you.

I found some stuff called Citrol at work. I have used it before and stuff with lots of tape glue stuck to it...it breaks it up and wipes right off. Don't know why I didn't think of that. Orange scented stuff that has worked in the past. Gonna try this.

I have some small solid plastic blocks. I may try to machine a small bracket of some sort out of that. I talked to Crutchfield and they do not have any ideas.
Thanks.

Vegetable oil works well, too.

The Citrol worked great. Got it right off. I have yet to have Citrol NOT work. Good stuff.
