Window Tint

I know another window tint one..... I tinted the front windows to match the back windows and also put 5% at the top of the windshield. Question is, I dont think it is dark enough. Does anyone have darker tint on the back windows then the front and how does it look??? Would just tinting the back slider darker make the whole truck look darker????

Tinted the girlfriends new car and she has darker interior so her tint looks darker..... I want mine darker... Lol.... No I am not tinting the windshield....

Well, in my opinion I think it look's better when the front windows are just a tad less dark than the rears. If you tinted 5% over the factory 15% in the rear, you're not going to be able to tell the difference unless you're cupping your hands to the window. And no, just tinting the rear slider would not make the whole truck look darker. It would just look like a really dark slider.

I did the same thing for a few months, then wanted darker so I had my back two tinted more, and then later on got my fronts even darker. The tan interior doesn't make it look dark at all inside and it kind of bothers me since I have 5 and 15% on my fronts and then three layers of 15% on my back three and 35 on the shield.

If you tint the whole rear window, which I'm assuming your talking about when you say the slider, it will darken it up a tad bit. Get all three in the back tinted and you'll notice it much much more.

If you go to a shop make sure they put 5 OVER the 15 from the factory instead of just another layer of 15 so it will equal out to be about 5%. I got my front two windows tinted with 5 over 15% to match my back windows only to find out that my previous shop screwed me over by just putting 15 down so now my fronts were darker than my back three. So 90 bucks later and my tint finally matched.

Haha, how funny.. that was me this weekend, I just bought my truck on friday, it already had 15% all the way around on it, and its a regular cab f150 07'. I already new when I started lookin at the truck before I bought it I wanted them darker, well today I got the rear back glass and two small side windows (on the RegCabs) covered with 5% over the 15% that was already there bringin them down to like 3%, ..then on the driver side and pass side window 15% over the already 15% bringin them down to like right around 5%, and then a 5% strip,

So basically I have 5% strip, then (15% over 15%)= 5% on driver/pass windows, then (5% over 15% on small side cab windows and rear back glass= around like 3%. I love it, I love having dark windows, my other two trucks I had before this I had 5% all the way around on both, these Cabs are really big on F150s let in alot of light in the front windshield and with my light color interior the 15% tint looked like 25% to me.. so it had to get coverd with some darker tint..

Ill try and get some and put them up tomorrow,

Id say to go and get the back passenger doors and whole rear glass done with 15% over the already stock 15% bringing your rears down to 5% which would be the same as your strip, It will blend in with your driver and passenger 15% window, it will look darker inside the truck also when looking in,

hey guys, dont mean to get off subject but i have my back three windows(screw) with a layer of 5%,took off factory tint, so its a true 5%. and my front two windows have layer of 20%, also took off factory tint, i want to have my front two a bit darker, not as dark as the rear but yea, what if i put a layer of 35% over the 20% how dark should that be?? or should i just go with another layer of 20%??
thanks guys!!

If Im correct, factory tint usually is factory tinted glass itself, the glass is tinted but has no film, it cannot be taken off, if you had tint taken off your windows that was removable film then it wasnt stock tint,

- If you want the sides darker but not as dark, Id say add a layer of 20% over it, it will bring it down to around 10-15% probably

I've had my windows tinted in both manners.

1st f150 - Fronts slightly lighter
2nd f150 - same all around

Looks good either way... just personal preference.

More like 18% but you need 15% up front for it to match because the windshield lets in so much light.

This isn't what your looking for but it's as close as I've got.

All F-150's leave the factory with 15% on the rear glass and two back windows. Like was said before, the actual glass is tinted. There is no film. Which is why even after 10 years of having a truck, those back windows aren't purple.

5% on the fronts and 15% over the factory on the back three. Medium Graphite interior with a 5% stip over the windshield. Very hard to see in during the day, can't see crappola at night standing right next to it.

Here's what I got. It's 5% tint on the front two windows, a 35% windshield strip (faded), and factory tint in the rear. Next week, I'm putting 15% over the factory tints in the rear, and either a 5% windshield strip or the entire windshield 35%
