Another patriot decal/overlay thread. Want opinions

The anti-decal crew can just leave now .

First off, the suspect!

Going to get some new patriotdecals stuff. I ordered 2 oval overlays already in flat black with red text. And painted some ovals flat black. Next I want to move onto the sides. Going to replace the STX with a solid black STX. However I cant decide if I should get a small outline around it and in which color? Want to be a little different and not go completely blacked out like most seem too. Like to have a few touches of chrome or silver.

Keeping with that theme of being a little different. I'm thinking about painting the side badges flat black and going with perhaps chrome inlays. Or maybe silver metallic. Probably what ever color I decide for the STX outline.

So please, thoughts and opinions? Think that would look good or no? Any other suggestions?

Man, your truck is looking good! I need to go look at it more often!

Hard call on the decals for the STX, Might try a grey drop shadow or something along those lines to soften up black. As far as the badges, try it out in photoshop to see the overall effect. you have so little chrome left that blacking them out with chrome lettering might be a nice touch.

Thats what I'm thinking too. I'll try to make something in photoshop and see how it looks.

Thats what everyone(with a red truck) seems to do. Thats why i want to try something a little different. Like chrome inlays.

I'm actually starting to lean towards the red inlays too. Not what I wanted to do, because thats what everyone else seems to do and I wanted to do something different, but I just dont think chrome inlays will look all that good.

Got a couple questions.

Whats the best way to get the badges off? And get new tape to put them back on?

Also, when you paint them, is it best to use a primer for the first coat? And a clear coat to seal them up good?
