Question Thinking bout rhino lining front and rear bumpers?

What up
I recently dented my front bumper while i was rompin in the mud at my buddies ranch....beer was involved.....
Im bout to knock the dent out(which will probably crack the chrome) so I was thinking about sand blastin the chrome off front/rear bumpers. I want to get yall's opinions about if rhino lining both bumpers would look decent on my 07 black f150. Im all about making my truck the bat mobile and i think i will get alot of benefits of rhino lined bumpers.
Please post your pics if you have any of what im talking about

also has anyone painted their stock f150 wheels matte black?

Numerous people have Line-X'd their truck bumpers with the matched colour. It looks good usually. If I had the money, I'd do it.

I did something similar, except i used a 10$ can of duplicolor truck bed coating (you could use any truck bed coating) in a rattle can. Survived one NY winter so far and not a chink in the armor yet. i cant say the same for the bedlinder i did with it, with this stuff sanding is KEY. the bed has been a horror i keep having to resand spots i thought i got because the stuff did not stick properly.

I did the bug guard, lower part (plastic stuff)bumper and my nerf bars with the stuff, no issues at all. since your sandblasting i can say that should be sufficent, sincei used a 600 grit foam sand block and got it done. I'd suggest a can of "prep all" you can get it from autozone near all the body filler and such. Great stuff for wiping things down.

The steps look really good!!

Did you paint the rubber/plastic step pad or did you tape it off before painting? (It looks like you did from the picture, but I want to confirm) If you painted the step pad, how is the bed coating holding up to the constant foot traffic?

I taped my step pads off because I did not think the Krylon Fusion paint would hold up to traffic. I might redo mine in the future with black bed coating and painting everything will be a lot easier.

Thanks,

they are holding up great, no i did not tape them off. just sanded with a 600 grit foam sanding block and wiped everything down with the "prep all" stuff i mentioned earlier. I also painted the plastic piece just inside the door. It is also holding up well. take my advice though, let it dry for like a week before putting it back in the truck, i did not wait and had to repaint it. at 10$ a can mistakes arent cheap. Ill try to get a shot of my bed for you all tomorrow. Doing you bed with this stuff wont hold up to lumber and 4 wheelers very well, but if you dont use your bed often for that stuff it should be ok. Even with two coats (15 cans) its still a little bit thin for my taste. But i aslo have a bed mat in it...

Krylon fusion will not hold up to much, if any, traffic. but it works well for dashboards and door trim.

I have a bed rug in my truck which works great as long as you do not plan on hauling dirt, rocks, mulch, etc. I have had my sons four wheeler in there a couple of times and that was not a problem, but I normally use my trailer for the real dirty stuff. With the Fold-a-Cover, the bed rug turns the back of my truck into a very large trunk.

The Krylon is holding up ok on my running boards, but the scuff marks are starting to bug me. If I paint mine again, I will use your idea and paint everything all at once with a more durable textured paint. Letting them dry for a week in my garage will not be a problem as long as my wife does not have to get in the truck. (She is only 5 foot tall...)

Thanks for the pointers.
