Most people are being courteous in their replies, but they are also being frugal...I being one of them. In this economy, people are cutting back on frivolous spending and looking for deals where they can get them. Just because people think the product is overpriced, and state that as such (even repetitively), doesn't mean they're being discourteous about it. They are simply stating their opinion about the price of the product that is being presented before them...in numerous threads. If MGP is trying to recoup some of the R&D costs, NCSU_05_FX4's math up above would go a long way to getting them there. Nowadays, $180 or $200 is a lot of money to some people to spend on a novelty appearance item.

Just one man's humble opinion. Thanks for listening and your enjoy your evening.
This is a thread about a member who installed caliper covers. I think you and others are confusing it with another thread.

Showing common courtesy to a fellow member who installed a product should be a given.

I totally agree that the member deserves that courtesy. My point is that MGP did come into this thread though to hawk their product again. See replies 18, 19 and 20.

I see him coming in offering the poroduct, yes, but nowhere did he ask what you thought of the pricing. But, even then, if you tought it was a overpriced, say it is too much and go on out the door, don't be hammering it in. That was my point. Some of the comments are totally rude.

I understand your point, I do. I hope you can understand where I was coming from as well.

Sure, I do. But, I also understand that a mold cost $3000, a stamping machine $30,000 and on and on. They may be over priced, but people do not have to be rude, they can just pass on the deal. That is my point.

Let me just say that every post here is an invitation for comments/opinions.

If you don't want people to make comments, you don't post. If people don't comment, this site dies. It's pretty simple.

It's like walking into a grocery store, starving, with a fresh $100 bill in your hand and not buying anything.

That is one of the dumbest posts I have ever read. How is that for rudeness? A post might or might not seek a comment. But comments do not have to be rude. You are missing the point entirely. Either you chose to miss it or your nature does not let you percieve it. You can say a product is not for you but do so in a polite way. You can say a product is over priced in your opinion, but in a polite way. You keep using the grocery store as an example. I bet there are a lot of things in the store that when you look at them you feel are way over priced and they have no value to you. I can see you now, running up and down the aile yelling "did you all see that head of lettuce? Look at the Price! You dimwits don't think I will pay that for lettuce do you?"

It's the continual piling on of negativity that is not necessary.

For example. Your $.02 had grown to about 20 bucks.

Come on Blue, it's not like tons of people haven't said the same thing about these covers. I know this guy's a site sponsor so you guys won't let anyone say anything negative, and I haven't been rude. Granted I've stated, repeatedly, that I believe them to be overpriced. I haven't knocked the manufacturer, the product, the way it looks, or even anybody that's bought them. The only issue I have is the price.

I think you're starting go to a little senile in your old age Blue! A rude comment followed by an order not to be rude

Again, I have not been rude about this topic, you may perceive it as so, but that's just your opinion, which, respectfully, nobody asked for.

You totally missed my point there, so let me explain it to you...

The grocery store is like F150online.com, a place where people go when they're looking for something, in this case, instead of food, it's discussions on F150s. In my example, the person walking into the grocery store, starving, with $100 are this site's members. Each comes here with their own experiences, knowledge and opinions, that's their $100. Posting is like buying something from the grocery store, it's why everyone is here.

Most people don't post just to see their own words on the screen, they're looking for feedback, help, comments, or just a friendly discussion on the topic of the day. (which appears to be rudeness )

Jeeze Stealth, you too?

I'm not being negative, I'm trying to fight for the freedom to express one's opinion around here.

Do you guys really believe that we shouldn't comment on people's posts unless they specifically ask for comments?

Just to be clear, I'm not actually asking for your opinion here, it's supposed to be a rhetorical question...

Do you really believe that coming in and stating your opinion once and going on to another thread is the same thing as repeatedly saying it is worthless and over priced? If so, then there is no way we can ever communicate. We speak two different languages.

I need to add, doing so when the OP never even requested an opinion as to value or price, olny offered a product for sale.

You are the one that chose to assume that the post was addressed to you, so you must have felt guilty. My post was directed to everyone that was repeatedly bashing the OP, the seller, his product and his pricing when most have no concept of what it takes to get a product to market. You responded. Your name was never mentioned.

If deliberately being rude and calling it to your attention is senile then I'm guilty. Under the circumstances, I thought it sarcasm which you are usually very good at dishing out but apparently didn't catch.

I'm sorry if you feel you are being oppressed in your ability to dish it out on the internet. All I was asking is for people to get off the repeated bashing kick and move on.

Let's just agree to disagree guys. This thread is really getting sidetracked. Bottom line is? If it's worth it to you, you'll spend the money, if not? well then, don't buy it.

What about jsvo5695, BrainDonor, Stealth, Screw-Me-05, Shanks12, etc who all posted their opinions in both threads about the caliper covers? You act like I'm guilty of something unique.

You don't feel sorry at all! It's ok, I'm not really feeling all that oppressed, just looking to kill some time before my meeting.
