For the guys wondering, "can a brush guard survive a deer"

Well I was on ebay looking around and saw these pictures. It sure looks like the guard can handle a deer and a acident, but i dont think the brackets can. I dont know much what had happen here it didnt say so but looks like a pretty bad accident and might of helped from further damage.

i can tell you my BG wont hold up to hitting a deer. or a car.

a piece of tread from a big rig hit it and dented it.

its a GO RHINO product.

Looks like a rollover somewhat. Grille guard won't help that.

A deer did that?!?!

A few years ago my dad hit a deer coming home doing 55 in my truck and after it rolled over the roof and off the side, the only damage done was a broken corner light

Looks like the deer won, but I highly doubt that truck collided with a deer.

Wow he must have hit a whole pack of deer to do that, I really dont think that one deer did that because there is so much damage on both sides unless...he hit a deer then rolled over

regardless what he hit the bg didnt save anything. may have added protection to the occupants, but the front end is still messed up AND the bg is junk.

Common misconception by a lot of people I know is that a brushguard will protect a truck. Well unless its one of those boondocks bumpers or similar like some on here have that replaces the front bumper and is connected to the frame-those will protect you some. But a common brushguard wont do much unless its a slow impact and what you hit is smaller than you

I had a 2004 ranger, had a westin brushguard on it, had a car back out in front of me in a parking lot, hit him at about 10mph. The brushguard took the blow, crumbled the support brackets on the right side pushing the guard into the bumper of my truck. Now the damage not beeing to bad, small scratch on upper and lower bumper and very small dent on fender I could live with that, pulled brushguard off, fixed brackets, put back on and you couldnt tell anything happened
Damage would have been much worse if not for the brushguard, but it wont help in an impact at speed

--FYI, the nissan altima that backed in front of me, right rear corner panel, rear bumper, truck lid, tail light. I think it was like $1500 for him to fix it.
My truck if I was pickey was $1400 to repair the damages you could not see(I did not repair the truck)

As far as the truck above, he was without a dought screwed, brushguard or not, that truck was done

I think the truck rolled itself over trying to get those chrome rocker panels off!
