Getting power but very little to sub

Bought a JL system from a member here and hooked it up today. Its getting power to the amp and the sub is getting some power but very little, you can barely hear if its even working. Its a mono amp (250w) and a mono JL sub. I've had a friend go over and double check all connections and amp controls, we are at a loss. Possible the amp is partially fried and is putting out just a little power?

What amp model and what sub model? What head unit? Are you using a LOC? The sub may be turned off or way down on the HU, also your crossover may be set way too low. It could be a bunch of things, give me a little more information so I can narrow it down a bit.

My best guess would be its not turned up on the HU

if the amp is set properly...its either the dial on the LOC or on the settings on your HU

Im using both a JL Audio sub inside their custom f150 box and a JL 250w mono amp. I have adjusted every dial and switch on both the amp and headunit (stock) and every combination inbetween.

Replaced the amp, problem fixed. Oh well, the price was worth the box and sub alone so I didnt mind buying another amp.
