Genesis vs. Arc Audio vs. PPI - which one?

A shop in town is getting out of the audio biz and they have a Genesis profile 4, Arc Audio SE 2075 and a pre-DEI PPI 800/2. I want a new amp to run my 6.5 Hertz Comps. I currently have a little 4ch. alpine bridged at 100x2. I was told that for sq purposes you should not run a bridged amp for comps. because bridging puts out a mono signal. Is this accurate? If so then the Genesis won't work, (I know Genesis amps are awesome). That leaves the Arc and PPI. The PPI is half the cost of the Arc. I was told the PPI amp has pre DEI guts but a newer cover, they purchased it during the transition period for PPI. Does this make sense? I know new PPI stuff isn't as good as the old stuff. The shop has had the amp sitting on a shelf for 2-3 years. If the guy is telling the truth about the PPI which amp, is better? Does it matter if the amp is class D or A/B? I think the PPI is class D and the Arc is class A/B. Will I notice a dramatic improvement by ditching my 4 ch. for a 2 ch. of equal power? Thanks guys for any imput. Sorry this got so winded.

There's no reason a good amp would sound any different bridged vs not bridged. I powered my rainbows off my amp both ways and couldn't tell a bit of difference.

Far as the amps you listed the best, considering you mentioned SQ, would be the Genesis with the higher SN ratio of 100db. The Arc and PPI are both class A/B thus a higher noise levels of 88db. Personally I wouldn't buy those unless I wanted to power some mid-bass 8's with a really high cutoff of say 150hz or so. Now if you dropped the SQ factor the I'd go with the Arc.

Class A/B for your components will sound a lot better than Class D generally. I think you would love both the Arc SE or the Genesis, I would try to get a demo of both before you purchase one.

I had a PPI for many years and loved it. Sold it to a buddy and he still uses it. No problems ever and always produced great audio. However I did notice you said PPI's new stuff is not as good as its old stuff.....mine definatley fell into the old stuff category, its 10 years old and still works as good as the day I bought it. Its unfortunate to hear they have lowered their standards.
