Need help with dead clutch
Need help with dead clutch
And also with the 5-speed trans. First off, the truck is a '93 F-250 with a 4.9 engine. Is this tranny a Mazda tranny and/or the same as in an F-150?
This was my dad's truck, and he gave it to my little brother with about 170,000 miles. The tranny had locked up recently from fluid loss which I guess is from the plugs falling out, but I can't be sure because I thought it only happened to the Mazda trans and I'm not sure what it is.
Trans is replaced, some weeks later the clutch is dead. When you press the pedal it wouldn't even come back. So they bled it and it worked for another few weeks. Happened again, and my dad bought a new truck so no rush to get it fixed.
A friend of his replaced the master cylinder but no good. So today we replaced the slave cylinder, still no good. So now everything is new for the clutch, but we were bleeding it for a good half-hour and still no pedal.
After searching on this forum, it seems some are good, some no-good. Is it really true you have to pump the pedal 200 times between cracking the bleeder valve? I just can't understand how it could take so long to get a pedal. Thanks.

my wife pumps my clutch bout 10x and I crack the valve. she fills up the resorvoir, pumps bout the same again, then crack the valve. if that doesnt do ya, sounds like you have a leak or a prob somewhere
