Can someone please tell me if there is a bumper out there for a 1998, XLT, Supercab WITH fog lights? I banged up the existing bumper about 3 weeks ago and am now having it replaced but the shop keeps telling me there is no bumper available for a 98 2WD with Fog lights. How can this be if my truck has already been pre-wired for it at the factory!!

 

the reason why it is pre-wired is b/c its the same cab used for 4X4's of that same set-up.
there are no 2WD bumpers w/ fog lights, only 4WD w/ off road package get fog lights. and regular 4X4's have holes for the lights but no have them. you can put the 4WD bumper on a 2WD.
or you can get the 2wd bumper and buy a bumper cover that has a air dam with lights or just add a fiberglass air dam w/ lights or add lights to the plastic air dam.

 

keystone restyling as well as several other companys have bumper covers that look really cool and most of them have ooptions for lights. The one from Keystone Restyling has a place for 5" PIAA style driving lights. Looks awesome.

I am currently in the process of doing exactly the same thing as you are describing. I have a 2wd truck and I am in the process of putting on a 4wd bumper w-foglights. As far as I can tell now it is going to be pretty easy except there are alot of parts involved.

Did you say that the wiring is already in place on a 4x2? If so, does the headlight switch on a 4x2 function for foglights by pulling out on it? I noticed that my headlight switch clicks out in the "on" position like a foglight 4x4 truck. If it did work that way, couldn't I install aftermarket lights and use factory wire connectors? I've always been curious about this. Thanks for the info.

You can check out Steve Millen sport parts (aka Stillen). They offer front spoilers that can either hold two square lamps or four oval lamps. If your truck has been pre-wired, why not try out a Stillen front spoiler (p/n KA-4911A) with four PIAA ovals connected to the wires? I guess that'll be a great idea. I set up mine with those components but didn't tap the wiring to the factory light switch because the PIAA's were supplied with independent switches (2) that lets me have the option to turn on the outer pair, inner pair or all of the four at the same time.

The Fog lights were also standard on the Lariat 4X4 and, as was mentioned, optional on the XLT 4X4. Not just the Off Road package although it was indeed a part of the ORP package as well.

No, all light switches pop out for acccess to the hole that you push a screw driver into for removal. You would need to replace the switch as it has a lighted fog light relief in it when it is the real fog light switch. Ofr you could wire another switch just for the fog lights.
