94 Explorer Limited Trans.
My tranny has recently been having some problems...
under light acceleration, it should shift (at least from 1st to second) @ about 2500rpm. However it doesnt shift... it keeps going and going and going.. until I let off the throtle.. and then hit the gas again.. then it shifts....
On the expressway, trying to get it into the passing gear.. it just shot up to 5500rpms...
The dealership said one of two things... either a tranny overhaul.. or it may just be the servo.. they said teh 94s had trouble with that
Heres my question.. what exactly is teh servo? I know it controls shifts, but any other info I can get about it would be greatly appreciated... also.. what else could it be.. and how much might it run me to fix this?
