Are FQR (rebuilt) Trannys any good?
Ford trans tech claims most transmission replacements are rebuilds not new. Are these any good? How about some more good insight from FACTORY_TECH. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Most remans are as good as a new build, if it comes from Fred Jones or Autonation it's prolly as good as new. A thing I have heard and believe is true that if you get a reman that's less than 3 years old, it's prolly a new one that has been sold by Ford to the raman vendor (we keep current model year and one year back in inventory for service parts)after we purge it from our inventory it goes to the vendor who sells it as a reman, but it's never been installed in a truck. If your less than 3 years old, it's more likely that they have one of these "new" ones than one that has come back and actually been rebuilt, so that's what you get. Just what I heard, but it sounds logical to me, so I believe it.

FACTORY_TECH, once again, thanks for the insight!! Much appreciated! I'm going to try to hook up with a Ford rep next week and let him drive the truck to see what he thinks. The Dealer said they have done/replaced everything that Ford authorizes. Thanks again.
