How often should you change your fuel filter??

Is it necessary to change your fuel filter more often than 15000 miles?

I changed mine at a little over 10K and will change it every 10k just to be on the safe side.

Sumb!tch.

I went 26,000 and then changed mine. I blew it out and it looked like mud coming out of it. Won;t be doing that any more, it will be every 10K from now on.

*mumbles something about LIGHTNINROD and the AARP...*

Darin,
Ford was the only one who carried the motorcraft fuel filter when I was changing mine. I think I paid $12 for it. There are also others brands like wix i believe that you should be able to pick up at any local auto parts store.

I just picked up the Wix one at a local store for about $12 or so. I normally use Motorcraft stuff, but the dealer wanted over $20 for it. The Wix has worked just fine.

I don't know the part # right now. I just changed mine yesterday. Go to your parts store and get the fuel line disconect tool with a 5/16" side. It's held in place by a bracket in the drivers frame rail by a 13mm nut. Let the car stand for a while to let the fuel pressure die down. Get a bunch of towels ready cause gas will come out no matter what. You can also check out www.svtlightnings.com they have a good article there.
