Help!! How do I remove the ac compressor on an 1999 f250

I love my truck but the darned ac compressor froze. I purchased a bypass pulley since I don't use the AC. Problem is I can't figure out how to get the compressor off. I see two 10mm bolts but cant find the third. Can some one please walk me through this before I shoot mytruck and cause my wife to leave me. Thanks. oh yea, its a 5.4 gas engine

The 3rd one is there, unless it had been taken apart before and not put back in... It is directly behind the inside 10 mm bolt.

May I advise, maybe purchasing a Haynes or Chiltons manual. They are a good tool to have near for a DIY person.

Good Luck

Good stuff, I ran out and purchased a haynes manual. Funny how they make the thing look so excessable. I will post tomorrow the comedy of this endevour. I am a carpenter by trade and anything but a mechanic.

I think big cubes must be having the same problem the OP had back in 2008 and he did a search. Now he is asking a question, he just forgot to put a question mark behind it. big cubes would probably appreciate an answer to his question.

The OP hasn't visited this site since 2008. He isn't going to answer the question.

Someone has to answer the question. I normally use a 10mm socket to remove the 10mm bolts. Unless its in a tight spot then I use a 10mm wrench.

I seen that lol. The giveaway was the first two posts. Other than that, I'm not sure what he's looking for.

Thanks guys! But my main problem is getting 10 mm spanner or socket on the last two bolts. The cross memeber is in the way. Do I need to remove engine mount bolts and raise engine maybe an 1-1.5"? I wish I still had my 1976 FE powered truck. This one has been plagued with ball-joint/tie rod end problems, calipers and COP failures. A real nightmare!
