Engine cleaning

While I'm not a fan of HF tools, they do have an inexpensive "engine cleaning gun/wand" that connects to an air compressor.....with a siphon hose that drops into a bucket.....it is really a very small, low flow , high pressure stream....I spray the engine compartment with 50/50 mix of simple green (it's e-component friendly), then use the wand to rinse it off.....the diameter of the spray is such that really allows very fine control over exactly where the water goes....I also fill a 1 gallon bucket with hot water- it's almost like a steam clean except the moisture evaporates within minutes.....just avoid harness connectors, etc.

Well, it was supposed to be a link to "engine cleaning" search. For some reason it didn't work.

I agree on using Simple Green. It is non toxic & eco-safe. If the 50% solution doesn't work, it's okay to use full strength in a spray bottle. You will need to rinse after letting it sit for a couple minutes. The Air Force bought this stuff by the barrel to clean aircraft of oil and fuels.
