Hello everyone. I got a 2001 Scab short bed 4x4 5.4 with a 3 inch suspension ans 3 inch body lift on 35s. Third owner of the truck at 138k miles. Anyhow need to rebuild the front end. I was on ebay looking at a rebuild kit for 179.00, does anyone have any experience with these? They are fully greaseable and two year warr. I was searching on here for some info and just found out that the moog uca while it appears servicable moog does not offer a replacemnet joint. I don't wheel my trucks other than the ocasional dirt road and actually will be going down to 33 inch tires and taking the body lift off as well. To get back on target anyone have any input?

What does the kit include we can't say if its any good without knowing what's in the kit

 

Both UCA with greaseable joints, lower ball joints, inner and outter tire rod ends

That doesnt look bad. Moog is one of the best out here for our trucks

 

3" suspension lift?
Must be a torsion key lift... if that is the case, that is what contributed to your front end going bad. They allow you to crank your torsion bars a lot further than you should.

Use moog. You get what you pay for with ebay kits. Youll be changing them again next year

 

I'd ditch the 3" lift over the body lift, uninstall would be a lot easier.

 

Its not a tortion bar lift, I don't know exactly what kind of lift it is but it has a crossmember peice. That bolts to the factory stuff along with a spacers on top of the knuckle. It looks like the rear springs are aftermarket as there are no blocks. 3 inch is my best guess because the body lift measured out to close to three and I was told it lifted six inches and just did the simple math.

The smallest crossmember lift for the 97-03 4x4's as well as most of the other year's is 4". And spacer on top of the knuckle? Try getting a picture of this setup and post it up.

 

The spacer on the knuckle has thrown me off. Yeah a pic would help a lot

i did the UCA on my buddy's 98 and i gotta say the aftermarket one's feel more durable, they are heavier and thicker. and have a nice black coat to them. personally i wish i could get the tube Springtech UCA's on my 4x4.
