2004 F150 Center Console shifter cable boot end
ALL -
I have a 2004 F150 center console. The transmission end of the shifter cable has a little boot that mounts on/near the frame and other end that connects the shifter cable to the gear selector.
The little boot end has a (now heat disentagrated) plastic snap ring. The shifter cable has popped off and the shifter **** now slides back and forth along the track and will not engage the gear selector.
I've made manual repair w/a zip tie around the boot end and gear selector to keep from having to call for a tow truck.
I'm thinking I can just replace the approx. 6" black housing with boot end???
I'm looking for the name of that part (part number would be very helpful) and any suggestions/tips on replacing?
Thoughts?
