Yes you plug it in turn the key on to run and let it calibrate, then start it up and scroll the window to record running freeze frames. After it has recorded the Freeze Frames say driving a steady 55 MPH you can navigate to the pids, it will calibrate and you can watch them either in graph mode or Volt/% modes. It will automatically calibrate to read in screen, much like an ociliscope or digital mode. Much to see, absorb and learn about your rig. It is a nice thing to have. Compare when it is running good against when it is running bad. Your having the normal bad hair day. Hope the vacuum hoses/hoses is all your worries.
