Air only blows out of Defrost? Help
Hey Everyone,
I have an 2003 f150 FX4 with 79k here at my dealership, and i am having an issue with my Air just blowing out of the defrost.
I already checked the vacuum lines and i cant find anything broken, but when i take a tube off it has a loud hissing sound and good suction.
Now i did find a Black vacuum line that is connected to nothing and i cant seem to find where its supposed to go. Its in a group of 2 other vacuum lines that are connected. These lines are located to the right of the battery down resting right above the passenger tire. Is that black line supposed to be connected to anything?
I don't know a whole lot on the vacuum system. Please tell me what i should do.
All your help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks again!

Take a look at the picture i linked below and look for item number 1 in the upper left corner of the picture. This part is located in the center area of the console down by your feet behind the black plastic panel . I suspect that the little J hook that holds it onto the actuator has become dislodged.

thanks
thanks Richard D.
I had already pulled my dash apart and then I had a third, and much closer look at the vacuum lines behind the battery. all the lines looked fine until I realized that one line went nowhere at all.
look. it hooks up to a three prong fitting and the foam connector is broken.
well it's tape fixed for now and all is good in a/c land.
ps-to all you "manual" a/c switch folks. the eatc thread on o rings is not meant for us! don't pull your dash apart.
